However, we must let go and move on to the new project that is waiting in the wings. It’s the nature of theatre. One story ends. A new one begins. We say farewell to Lily and Michael and hello to Willum, Rick, Tansy, Axel, Warnock, Clelia and Thora.

As we walk through the opening of a new show, I am mindful of all the people who come forward to help Soulstice on its journey. There are the production staff, the actors, the builders, the technicians, the run crew, the box office team, the concession staff, and the Board members who staff each show. There is no lights up without these faithful volunteers. What a joy to be able to work beside such an amazing group of people. I count our blessings daily. It’s showtime, thanks to our circle of dedicated people. Enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Dear Friend of Soulstice,

It is with a great deal of excitement that I write this letter. My excitement lies in the fact that we at Soulstice have found a home of our own for our 10th season and beyond.

10 seasons! Who would have believed that a recurring dream in the 90′s would lead to a vibrant, creative, exciting theatre company which has grown and thrived in Milwaukee? We are finally on the artistic map. Our last show garnered five rave reviews and played to sold out houses!

We are poised at an amazing crossroad, and we have found a fantastic new space. It is a modern factory/loft in a great location. We will have a 99 seat space that can be reconfigured for each show and many of the amenities that we now lack…inviting atmosphere, great/easy to find location, rehearsal, classroom & storage space, inviting lobby, green room for actors, office…and more!

Of course, it will take more funding for us to be able to rise to this challenge. I believe, with my whole being, that Soulstice deserves to be more visible and more viable in the area. We would like to develop greater monthly expense funding and a security net to assure our first year and beyond.

To that worthwhile goal, I am asking for your financial support. We will finally complete our celestial garden in the lobby, identifying our loyal patrons at the level of giving.

I realize that there are all sorts of other claims on your finances in today’s economy. I am hoping beyond hope that you see the value in helping the Soulstice mission to continue. Please be a part of ensuring our future.

Sincerely,

Char Manny
Artistic Director
